A Lifeline on the Road: How Bandstra Helps NLWS Save Wildlife

At Northern Lights Wildlife Society (NLWS), every animal that comes through our doors has a story—a journey from struggle to survival. Some of those journeys begin in the wild, but others take place on the road, where trusted partners like Bandstra step in to help us make a difference.
Bandstra shared a wonderful feature and video about our partnership on their website, showcasing the incredible ways their team has supported our work. Their help extends far beyond logistics—they’re an essential part of our rescue and rehabilitation efforts. From transporting crucial supplies to ensuring the safe passage of injured and orphaned animals, Bandstra has become a true wildlife hero on wheels.
One heartwarming story that stands out is when a Bandstra driver transported a rescued deer from Vanderhoof. Concerned for its well-being in the cold, the driver went the extra mile—literally bringing the deer into the cab, wrapping it in a blanket, and giving it a warm, safe ride. It’s this kind of care and compassion that makes Bandstra such a valued partner in our mission.
We are incredibly grateful to Bandstra for their ongoing support and commitment to wildlife conservation. Their generosity helps us reach more animals, deliver more care, and ultimately give more creatures a second chance at life.
